Ina De Man

Youth Books

Ina De Man has been writing all her adult life. She wrote plays, children's stories, cursive and blog texts. She also wrote business texts and papers in English and German.

With Ravenburcht, she delivers her first juvenile thriller. The original story originated 25 years ago and competed for the "Book Owl," a literature prize for first-timers. Recently it received a make over and was adapted to the current zeitgeist.

Ina works as a consultant and in that role has traveled quite a bit, from India to South Africa, from the U.S. to Singapore. Life at airports gave her the opportunity to gain impressions, observe people and translate them into stories. She lives with her husband and two cats in the outskirts of Mechelen.

Ina behind the scenes

In the summer I am a real outdoor person. I have two terraces attached to my house and you can find me there if it is not too cold or too wet. Ideal also for reading my favorite book from an easy chair and overlooking the fields, which is usually a thriller or a police novel. And that is also often "Ten Little Negroes" by Agatha Christie, the best closed room mystery ever written. But in winter when it's cold and wet you can find me in a warm corner with a crochet work.
