Bodies wash up on the beach at Westerkerke. Rumor has it that the victims were shipwrecked, caused by the Brimskölle, a mythical sea monster from old sailors' tales. Or is something else going on after all? Floris has dreamed all his life of becoming a superhero. Now that he has turned thirteen, he is getting impatient: it is now or never. Even Haroen, his best friend, can't talk him out of it. When a gang of bullies attack the two boys, Floris sees his chance to prove his worth to Harun. But that plan goes horribly wrong.

The secret of the volcano

Floris' powers prove too dangerous for his immediate surroundings, preventing him from returning home. Together with his friend Haroen, he discovers the hideout of other children with superpowers in the heart of a volcano. There they plan to build a new life. Until the group discovers another great secret in the volcano, which threatens them again. To survive, they must join forces.
