The Poison Issue

We are like a snake that keeps changing its skin. In this world of poison and bones, nothing is what it seems.

In Aurea, only poisoners are allowed to use magic via snake venom. Bone conjurers need bones to do so, a form of magic that is no longer tolerated. By hiding her true identity, bone conjurer Zaya commits a great crime. Consequently, when she is injured, everything changes. Her purple blood leads the poisoners directly to her and Zaya, like all other bone charmers, must eventually undergo the dreaded transformation into a poisoner.

Meanwhile, Zaya does not realize that she is not the only one with secrets. For Asper also has an assignment, and it could change the fate of both bone charmers and poisoners forever.
