A new thriller from the mind of Sandra J Paul. This time the story of a man with amnesia. You are immediately drawn into the story and won't be released until the story is finished.
Once again, Sandra proves that she is far from predictable. The story is filled with plottwists that you don't see coming beforehand. I like the fact that as a reader you know as much as the main character. This ensures that as a reader you are surprised at every twist. The nice thing is also the Avengers Endgame reference. This while way before it is even developed. Kwijt is a delightful story that you can't put down when you start it. A breath of fresh air.
This is the second book by Sandra j.Paul that I have read. She knows best how to tighten tension arc in her stories. 'Kwijt' is a psychological thriller, there are themes raised in the book that make the book have a loaded side. When you slam it shut, it continues to resonate. The story is a puzzle and a whole that you don't see coming.Highly recommended!
Kwijt is an engaging story. The story is well and understandably written. I find that Sandra writes engaging, realistic and believable anyway with always contemporary elements. In addition, there are always poignant passages precisely because she describes the development of characters and relationships so believably. The main characters are almost all people you sympathize with and come to love a little.
I thoroughly enjoyed this psychological thriller that I was immediately sucked into.
I read this book for T&M Reading Club. So I'd like to thank them, but I'd also like to thank Hamley Books. And Sandra certainly and definitely as well (and especially for signing my book). It was a story that read very smoothly: not too long chapters, nicely developed characters,... I was in Jim's story from the beginning. Exciting and mysterious from the beginning. Lots of questions, but the answers came little by little. A story about trust, friendship, or losing it, making decisions,
Super!!! Therefore, a fat 4-star.
Can you imagine it: you wake up in your childhood home where you haven't lived for years and your memories of the past 2 years are gone. The only person living with you is your teenage son and the woman you married has disappeared. As if this were not enough, it turns out that your best friend is also dead. Well all this happens to Jim Vermeersch a London renowned pastry chef. From the beginning my curiosity was piqued. You just want to know what happened in Jim's past why his wife is gone and his formerly close relationship with his son Vince is now ruined. In short smooth chapters, the author reveals little by little the events of the past 2 years. The story just keeps taking new twists and turns so that you don't know until the very end how it all turns out. Wow, this story really charmed me. It read so smoothly that I finished it in 2 days.
The plot!!! Guys that plot!!! It just kept coming, one detail after another, the enz twist after another. Along with Jim, you are along for the whole book in search of the truth. And then, when you think you know how or what, guess again, you know nothing! Nothing! I can't get over how strong that ending is.
So let me summarize again :
About this book I can be very short and sweet, this book sticks out
FE-NO-ME-NAAL together!!!
